DNA Engine Option 2 是一款雙波長(zhǎng)實(shí)時(shí)PCR 儀。96 個(gè)藍(lán)－綠 LED 順序激發(fā)樣品，通過(guò)二個(gè)光電二極管來(lái)檢測(cè)。兩個(gè)激發(fā)波長(zhǎng)范圍：一為523–543nm（適用于FAM、SYBR Green I 等），
還有一個(gè)是 540–700nm（適用于普遍使用的HEX、TEMRA、TET、VIC 等熒光素）。
DNA Engine Option 2 既可以支持普通的單重PCR，也可以支持多重 PCR。多重 PCR 除了可以節(jié)省試劑和時(shí)間外，還可以使內(nèi)對(duì)照的使用成為可能，從而對(duì)樣品PCR 效率有更進(jìn)一步的掌控。
此外，多重PCR 也 使基因表達(dá)分析更為簡(jiǎn)便。其具體性能如下：
一次96 孔熒光檢測(cè)時(shí)間在3 秒之內(nèi)，減少了熒光交叉
的溫度控制性能和梯度PCR 功能
Opticon Monitor 分析軟件可以非常簡(jiǎn)單地設(shè)置RT–PCR、多重PCR 等反應(yīng)，以及DNA 定量、基因表達(dá)、等位基因等功能分析
LED 陣列與反應(yīng)板一一對(duì)應(yīng)，保證激發(fā)光準(zhǔn)確進(jìn)入目標(biāo)管。發(fā)射光通過(guò)光電倍增管（PMTs）系統(tǒng)進(jìn)行信號(hào)放大。
